This Bonide Mosq Out 554 mosquito fogger is a thermal fogger that heats up insecticide and sprays it out as a fog. This insect fogger can be used to terminate all kind of insects and pests starting from mosquitoes and flies, to bugs, gnats, wasps and other type of insects that are not welcomed in your yard or house. Just fill the container with appropriate insecticide and start fogging.


Bonide 554 fogger consists of similar parts as other thermal, gas foggers. The body of the device as well as the handle and container are made from a durable plastic. This Bonide foggers is portable and there is a handle on the top of the fogger so you can carry it around more conveniently.

Under the handle you will find a fogging trigger, pressing this trigger will release a fog. The insecticide needs to be filled into a container which is screwed on the bottom of the fogger. To fill the insecticide simply unscrew the container from the fogger, and after you have filled it, screw it back to the fogger and make sure to tighten it firmly. In the container you will find a pump that pumps an insecticide from the container to the coil, where it gets heated and sprayed out trough the nozzle. The capacity of the container is 40 oz.

Bonide 554 Mosq out fogger works with a propane gas, which heats up the coil of the fogger and the insecticide form the container gets pumped trough the coil where it gets heated and turns from a liquid state into a fog. The propane cylinder is not included with Bonide 554 fogger and must be bought separately.

At the front of the Bonide fogger there is a coil that gets heated, a coil basket that protects the heated coil from someone accidentally touching it and a spraying nozzle at the end of the fogger. All of these parts can get very hot in the fogging process so be careful while working with a fogger.

Where to use

Bonide insect fogger can be used in outdoor areas for fogging shrubbery, trees, taller grass, dark and humid areas around the house where most mosquitoes reside. This fogger is made for outdoor usage and is not intended to be used indoors as it gets heated to high temperatures during the fogging process which can be dangerous for fire safety for an indoor area. To fog an indoor place take a look at cold ULV foggers.

It is recommended to use Bonide 554 fogger with a Bonide Mosquito Beater insecticide, which works good for killing mosquitoes, flies and other insects.


Bonide 554 insect fogger dimensions are 10 x 12 x 16 inches (25.4 x 30.4 x 40.6 cm). Because of the compact design, small insecticide container and lightweight parts, this fogger is pretty light, weighting around 7.6 pounds (3.4 kg) with an empty insecticide container.
